Gantry Alignment With Water Table - Troubleshooting Guide

There are several reasons your gantry might not be aligning when using a water table. This troubleshooting guide should help you isolate the reason you can’t align your gantry so that you can either fix it yourself or get in touch with us about a faulty part.

A. Slats not fully seated into Slat Holders
B. Slat Holders in the incorrect position
C. Obstruction between Water Table and CrossFire Frame

A. Slats not fully seated into Slat Holders

The first thing you should check is whether or not all ten of your slats are fully seated into the slat holders. Be on the lookout for gaps between the bottom of the slats and the openings of the slat holders. If you notice any gaps, lightly tap the slat into the slat holder using a soft-faced mallet. If the slat will not advance into the slat holder, use a handheld file to remove some of the material inside of the opening of the slat holder.

B. Slat Holders in the incorrect position

The water table is not supported from underneath, and therefore will dip downward towards the middle. If your slat holders are not positioned over the top of the screws that mount the water table to the CrossFire’s frame, they will flex with the dip in the middle of the water table. Ensure that your slat holders are supported by the CrossFire tube by positioning them over the screws that mount the water table to the CrossFire’s frame.

C. Obstruction between Water Table and CrossFire Frame

When mounting the water table to the CrossFire’s frame, it is important to make sure there are no obstructions on the frame before you mount the water table. A common obstruction occurs when the self-drilling screws included with the water table are removing material from the CrossFire tube and creating chips. Be sure to clear all of the chips from the screw before fully advancing the self-drilling screws so that they do not get between the water table and the CrossFire’s frame. If you think there is an obstruction between the water table and the CrossFire’s frame, you will need to remove the water table and inspect the frame, primarily focusing near the small holes created by the self-drilling screws.

If you have checked all of the above but your gantry still will not align with the slats in the water table, the slat holders or the water table itself might need to be replaced. Contact us here:
