Hello all, making some wall art for Xmas for a niece. I’m still very much a novice with Inkscape, but I was able to get an SVG that appears to work:
However, when I extrude, one piece between the P and E of her name remain.
Anybody know what I’ve done wrong/what’s happening?
I would cut without extruding.
You could have lines overlapping, creating an open loop on top of a closed loop, or lines exceeding where they intersect.

If you shared your f3d file, one of us could show you how to fix it. But as KwikFab states, you could take the sketch to Manufacturing and use the “sketch profile” as your “model” vs. using the “body/body face” as your “model.”
