I got my crossfire as a hobby and something to play with. Will not be selling pieces or making profit. Is there an alternative to purchasing fusion 360?
You don’t have to purchase it. There is an option for it to be free for you. Do a search online and there will be clear instructions. It is a little tricky to figure out but works for free.
Free is good.
Thanks. I had looked at it but didn’t figure the free part out other than the free trial for 30 days but will look again.
I believe you have to sign up as a student.
Use this link.
As a hobbyist/small commercial user you can’t sell more than $100K of products annually made using Fusion. You also have to re-affirm that once a year.
Students need a .edu email address but can get a 3 year license that doesn’t need to be re-affirmed each year.
Thanks for the information
when I tried to do the start up business for fusion, It wanted me to have a company name and website. I do not have either of them. Do I need to create a business so that I can complete this process? If so What do I do for a website?
That’s because you picked Start-up for the type. There are 3 non-chargeable licenses - hobbyist, start-up (less than $100K in annual sales) and educational.
The hobbyist is personal use and just requires you to self-certify that you’re using it to learn or for personal projects.
The commercial selection on the license type pop-up will take you to the company info page. They assume if you’re selling things you’ve got some sort of company - a name, etc. If you don’t and it’s more informal than that, you should go back and choose non-commercial until you’re ready to make the leap into a real company (which can be a sole-proprietorship so you don’t need to have a corporation or anything).
The educational license requires an email from a qualified .edu email address.
You just have to re-certify every year that you still qualify for the license. Once you hit $100K in annual sales it’s time to buy a full license
Here’s the pop-up that starts the whole thing:
You get there from this page
and clicking on Step 3 in the lower right corner of the page.
My 30 day free fusion was about up, been dreading it. I laughed it was so easy. 3 steps checking boxes and it was done. Been sweating it for nothing.
Thanks so much for your help. We’ve been cutting stuff like crazy
