image Anyone else having FUSION 360 issue since the recent update

Can’t get it to finish tool path generation

Gets to 97.6% then nothing 1hour later 2-3-4-8 hrs later still stuck at 97.6%

Tried svg dxf plain svg

Same issue a many times. No Idea why though.

Been trying all day
No g code. Really sucks!!

Only after I got notice bar that it updated
After the update
FUSION X Y Z changed?
I use to select the FRONT PLANAR face to start my sketch on, now I have to select TOP
or my file imports upside down and X & Y is in the wrong spot.

Wierd

I spent hrs on a sign about two weeks ago just to have the same thing happen.Ive took a break from it.Ive bought sheet cam and I’m going to learn it and see if it works better.

I’m posted in a discussion on the FUSION 360 forum seems it’s an on going issue

I’ve had that happen before. Usually it seems on complex paths. So I just create another path or two and then they all generate ok. No issue with post putting them all in one tap file.

I tend not to waste a lot of time retrying something that should work but doesn’t. Quicker to do a few more paths.

That’s what I ended up doing.:+1:

From the FUSION FORUM the experts are pointing out the the Computer specs are a part of this issue and seam to matter more and more with each update.
FUSION Runs ok on moderate Specs but now some functions are maxing out the CPU Memory and causing road blocks and freezing.

This cut had 40 + pierce points and selecting the extruded surface and letting FUSION WORK the tool path and cut direction worked as normal, but at the end of the job setup
And starting the tool path calculations it hit the wall on my CPU use-age capacity & memory.

So the work around was to break it up into different cut section manually🙁

So it’s either upgrade to a better Laptop$$$
Or have to deal with manual job set up and do these more complex jobs in sections.

Im running windows 7 pro , Intel core I7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHz 2 TB SSD hard drive , 16 GB RAM, Nvidia G force GTX 1050 ti vid card, I think my pc should play with Fusion. But it still does the not finishing tool path on several files. And i do agree alot of it is lower spec PCs. In my case i have no idea why it does it.

Yeah I have and well built gaming rig and it still stalls out st 96.7%.It seems its does it on exstruded drawings where the letters are cut out…if I’m cutting out around the letters it tends to finish.I usually just undo the extrusion and try to create the toolpath without it…have to have all the broken lines fixed that way though.

I did upgrade to a solid state drive and it did seem to help with the random freezing while drawing.

Word is from the FUSION 360 Forum
Is WCS settings. In the job setup when you in the WCS area before going to 2D profile cutting.

Tolerance setting is a slight issue if you set the tolerance to high or really tight as I call it.
This balance as the techs stated appears to be an issue and they are working on calibrating it to handle tighter settings.
It’s been cause of road blocks when FUSion tries to calculate tool paths automatically.

Also on auto calculating it tolerances are a set tight like .001 it seems to cause a block in calculation opening it up to .002 or .003 seem to fix the delay and freeze in the tool path generation.

They are working to correct the calibration / calculation on this as well to handle extremely tight clearance tolerances set by some users.

And LAP TOP SPECS are also a cause of long calculation times

I’ve had that happen in the past. I just break it up into 2 or 3 tap files. Hope this helps.

Yes I did break it up to get it finished.

Tried opening up the tolerances slightly & it did finally calculate on its on just took about 60-90 seconds

All the heavy processing in Fusion is done by their servers, your PC just requires a good NVidea video card (AMD doesn’t work with it) and a fast network connection. Splines and involute curves have always been a nightmare with any Autodesk product , I think it’s because the radius can’t be properly defined. This makes letters and drawings with lots of fancy curves a huge sore spot. Exporting a file from graphics software like Corel Draw never goes well either due to the way they define curves.

I’m in the same spot. Please let us know if you liked sheetcam. So fed up with Fusion

I truly enjoy Sheetcam…I have a lot of experiance with AutoCAD…and some with Con-Fusion360…and Sheetcam is real easy to use for signs and graphics…and there are lots and lots of easy videos to learn it.
there are even videos done by Plasma guys…so it totally on par with what we do.

Have you tried deleting the setup and redoing it. I find that if there is a modification and you let the tool path get regenerated it takes forever (I’m using a brand new macbook), if I just delete the setup and tool path it does it immediately.
