Frozen Mach 3 on startup

My machine is currently frozen - probably Mach 3. Starting Mach 3 goes like this:

  1. Check (o) RnRMotion - each time I must recheck the motion output
  2. Error found: Artcode 8877 - fix or ignore, no difference
  3. Error found: Artcode 9991 - fix or ignore, no difference, Mach 3 is now frozen and must be killed, rinse and repeat.

Happens whether I start the Langmuir XML or Mach 3 mill, etc. Any help or ideas appreciated!

We’ve seen this issue before and it sounds like it’s a corrupted download of Mach3. Mach3 software can sometimes be finnicky when it comes to setting up and customers usually have success by uninstalling Mach3/deleting all traces of it and reinstalling a fresh copy. Please follow all the steps below to completely remove Mach3 from you computer before re-installing.

1.) In the bottom left corner of windows click the search icon and type ‘add’ until you see the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ Dialogue come up. Scroll down the list and find Mach3. Click on it and select ‘Uninstall’. Follow the prompts to successfully uninstall the program.

2.) Next we want to make sure that all the files and plugins were successfully removed from the computer. Go into the file browser and click on OS (C:). You should see files such as Apps, Drivers, PerfLogs, etc. Make sure that there is no ‘Mach3’ Folder. If there is, right click this folder and Delete it.

3.) Re-install Mach3 and move the CrossFire Mach Profile and CrossFire Plugin file into the correction locations as before using our setup videos.

4.) Open Mach3 and see if this fixes the issue. If not let us know!

Thanks,
Mike

Step 0 - copy your license file from the Mach 3 directory to somewhere safe.

Then Step 5 - copy your license file to the Mach 3 directory.

I was having the same issue so… Ok, so this IS the problem… Somewhere along the way some settings got changed in the crossfire xml file. not sure what changed them or how, or what I changed to make it work correctly but here is what I did. I downloaded Notepad++, and the Notepad++ Compare plug in. I went through and compared both files line by line, notepad will highlight the differences. There were some 0’s where numbers where in the original crossfire profile and I changed those, and a few other things that looked odd like negative numbers. There are lots of differences in license, recent files, etc… which are all stored in the xml file. I did not change that. It’s now running error free. So some parameter somewhere screwed the file up… I have to go through my probing and stuff to make sure everything still works, but it isn’t crashing, the software that is, so YAY!
