FireControl 20.6 Now Available - Release Notes

20.6.2 fixed the spacing and pause issue.

Thanks toolboy

With the latest update I’m finding that the function to set origin is not drawing the box correctly.

This looks like a fusion issue not a firecontrol problem.
Fire control only does what the post processor converts to gcode

The function to redefine the origin is not working after the fire control upgrade. Fusion is working fine.

Note from some cutting I was doing today. Whenever I had a program with M0 (manual stop) in it, Firecontrol would lock up and not allow to continue. It’s like it got stuck in a loop and became non-responsive. I sent in two stack traces from when that happened. I had to strip all the M0 commands from the program to get it to run.

The new restart from loop or line stuff is great!!! Saved me a lot of trouble today.

Also, my Miller 625 ex stopped firing today…won’t light the pilot arc. I can hear the relay in the control box working, but torch won’t fire anymore. I’ll post some more of that in another thread - it’s not related to the M0.

Delete the FC program and reload it…worth a try

Updated to 20.6.2 and using the tab key to change the jog mode doesn’t work. Anyone else having this issue?

@langmuir-daniel

Jogging the Z axis down crashes in to the material after two or three presses (OSX), anyone else getting this?

Tab switches between continuous and 1mm for me fine

Im seeing the same problem with the tab key not working.

i have a new crossfire xl 1.2is loaded 20.6.2 fire control 1.6 v post . the only program i can load is the break in . when i try to load other programs it says no feed rate can not load

did you run it thru fusion or sheetcam first to create the gcode?

When I try to run 20.6 on my Windows 7 machine it chugs down to maybe a 10 frames a minute. I’ve reverted to 20.5 and it runs fine, but I’ve tried each update of 20.6 that came out and it just falls on its face. You can’t jog the table as it takes ten seconds between clicking the button and the table moving. What is the big change between 20.5 and 20.6 that would bork Windows 7. Fusion 360 is running just fine and the system is performant (i7 processor, 8GB ram, 970 video card)

Version reports 20.6 to me in add/remove, I have installed/uninstalled 20.6.2 multiple times, never reports being updated. Also get the 20.6.2 reminder on every launch.

Anybody else seeing this?

When you say reminder for 20.6.2 do you mean this messge:

Download the latest hot fix version of FireControl.

This message is just part of the bulletin at the start of FireControl and can be hidden on future bootups by selecting the Mark as Read option.

Or the [UPDATE AVAILABLE] button? Note there are also update available buttons for THC and Machine Firmware.

yes, that popup.

Does the version in either Add/Remove programs or About show v20.6.2?

because mine says 20.6

thanks

This is an oversight that has caused a lot of headaches. The 20.6.2 was a hotfix release for an issue with patterning spacing and did not overwrite the version # in the UI, or installer.

Rest assured this will be remedied in future releases.

If you have downloaded the 20.6.2 installer from the Downloads page and installed it, you have 20.6.2 installed.
