Tin inspired me to start this topic. Perhaps we could organize our efforts and help be more productive with our belly-aching about features we would like to see in Fusion 360. Here is Tin’s post that so eloquently states the issue and the purpose.
I thought this could also be a topic to correct/resolve some misconceptions of features that are in or not in Fusion 360. I put this in the CAM topic since, I believe most our interest (but not all) lay within the “Manufacturing” component of Fusion 360.
Currently we have many issues that we/I/some of us would like to see resolve:
- Tool settings flow to the post processing
- Better control and visibility of the way the springback is being calculated
- Option to pierce the center of holes as a feature
- Option to start lead-in in the center of holes
- “Wiggle-waggle” feature for piercing thick plate
- Option where we give Fusion 360 the authority to decrease our lead-in/lead-outs to the point that the contour is included in a tool-path vs. discarding the contour outright.
- Thermal protection to minimize warping of the metal while cutting
I encourage others to add their ideas and as you have time, please consider following what Tin suggested. I know I have not done it and I have seen him mention this three times since I have joined this forum. So I am guilty of just griping and moaning about it but not doing anything constructive with my energies.
Fusion 360 is a great product and I am thankful that they allow us hobbyist to use it for free. Perhaps this is one of the reasons they allow so many users: they want the input. They want their product to be the best product out there.
