Everlast 52i upgrade

I have the 52i with the CNC torch. Seems to be meeting the needs of cutting 1/4” projects but I run into heating issues on the longer cuts and the cutter stops until it’s cooled, then I restart and can cause issues with the cut.

If I upgraded to an 80 amp, the duty cycle would be 100% at what I’m cutting now vs 60% , additionally I could cut thicker metal.

any thoughts or suggestions?

Yes, getting a bigger plasma cutter will up the duty cycle at the amps your using now. It will also let you do some thicker smaller projects. You can up your duty cycle on your 52i by using a fan to help keep it cool and add pauses in your program as well.
