Brand new machine , can’t do the initial home sequence . Receiving the Y1 and Y2 rams sync encoder alarm . Seems the rams don’t move together and the left one is very slow . Also seem the left has air in the hydraulic fluid every time I bleed it but don’t see any leaks . Already rethinking this purchase . Don’t realize for the amount of money it was going to be a dyi machine and not ready to put to work
Hi Angelojoanos,
Just a picture of the error code is not as helpful as a picture of the LIVE REPORT section of the screen. Here is the general list of tests needed to figure out what is going on:
- Run the bleed procedure but do not open the bleed valves. This will force the rams to move downwards as you hold both palm switches.
A) As the rams move downwards, check the Y1 and Y2 position on the live report. Are they moving downwards in unison? is the y1 and y2 position updating properly or are they staying at 0?
B) Are the rams moving down?
C) Are the motors for the pumps turning inside the enclosure?
D) Is there any fluid moving out of the clear hoses that are plugged into the Pressure Relief Valves on top of the pump?
E) Are the driver boxes on the back left of the enclosure reading “r. 0” when the buttons are unpressed and “r. -120” or a similar value when the buttons are pressed?
F) What are the tonnage readings on the Y1 and Y2 rams in the live report as you do this?
- Send a picture of the interior of the enclosure. A wide view would work best.
- Send a picture of the main screen with the Live Report Window midway through the test in step 1.
- Have you removed the wooden blocks between the ram and the table?
My best initial guess - if you are seeing significant amounts of air every time you bleed, but no obvious leak, then that is likely either:
-
Your springs on your Pressure Relief Valves are bad and your PRVs need to be replaced.
-
The pipe underneath your pump needs to be tightened.
Either way - message me at support@langmuir systems if replacement parts are needed and I can get them to you quickly. Or just message me with your findings and I can help figure out the solution if something else is going on.
So this tells me this machine was never tested before shipping ? It’s brand new , just received and already needs repair and or trouble shooting ! . No oil leaks , the relief valve tubes are dry and not relieving . The right cylinder works correctly and stays air freed after movements. The left pump spins much faster and get tons of air that has to be bleed off with every small movement like it’s sucking air on the suction piping but no visable leaks to the eye . Of coarse wood blocks were removed much earlier in the unpacking process . I will run the test and report back with pics
We put each machine through an 18 ton test before we ship them.
Did you run this before doing the bleed procedure? I am wondering if maybe your bleed procedure valve on that one side was just not closed and when you run the machine it is sucking the air there. Are you seeing any movement of fluid through any of the clear soft lines during your operation? (Not the bleed procedure).
No movement of oil thru clear tubes with air bleed closed . It’s would be very easy to see with the amount of bubbles . I checked the oil level and it’s seems fine and since it’s the same tank the right pump has no issues
Thays great news , just hard to believe considering the first thing I tired was the home process and received the same error which then lead to me trying to bleed the cylinders . No matter how much you bleed the left cylinder and watch the oil circulate till no more bubbles once it moves and stops again with the error you can bleed it again and it’s full of air once more ( plenty air ) over and over again. Only thing I can think of is the suction piping on the bottom of the pump needs to be tightened . Seems everytine it runs it sucks in air .
Yes that does seem like a loose connection on the inlet. Maybe it vibrated loose during shipping? Hopefully tightening that down will fix that. Otherwise, let me know what else you find with those tests. If you can find where the air is getting sucked in, if tightening it down does not fix it, I can send you a replacement part.
