Dumb Stuff we have to deal with

They must protect the stupid from themselves There are too many ambulance chasing lawyers.
When I was a kid. If you did stupid things, you either learned or natural selection took control.
Now we have a society of stupid people who marry stupid women and have double-stupid kids.

We have CNC plasma cutters…

in our garages…

You’d think that bypasses a bit of stuff in favor of “user control”…

We could start an entire thread on “stupid stuff.” I remember some years ago I was using the pneumatic tube conveyor system at the Walmart Pharmacy check out.

I opened up the canister and inside was a label that revealed how to open the canister.

I actually saw a warning label affixed to an airtight stove ( in a woodstove store! ) saying “Caution: hot when in operation”.

As this thread has already been derailed let me say this. I really now under stand why we need to get AI up and running. Because the future generations will need it to get through life.

Sorry for derailing this thread. It was just an observation on my part. We do need a dumb ass thread. It is the truth. The child touches the stove.
The fact is that he/she won’t do it again. But instead, I have to bolt my stove to the wall because the children I no longer have might touch the stove and pull it over on top of them. This is the same thing that Langmuir has to do to protect itself from idiots. Thus all the safety pop ups on every screen. If you don’t like them on FireControl. Don’t even look at the milling machine program CutControl. I get it though.
Just make me sign a waiver and be done with the safety screens.

Well I’m sure y’all read the 300 page safety and warning manuals that come with your equipment…

What’s that sound?? Oh, the manual going from the unboxing into the trash bin…

General TLDR of every warning manual

Use it like you know it should be used. It’s not an enema.

This machine will kill you and it will hurt the entire time you’re dying.

Every gun is always loaded. Practice that way, and you won’t win a Darwin award, though some should.

That Darwin Award pic reminded me of when I was hand logging on the west coast. Sometimes the top of the tree would hang out over the water, and someone had to walk out on it to limb and buck the top. This one guy was doing real good until he forgot what side of the log he was standing on. SPLOOSH!
