Looking for a better way to make up flares and swage connections for copper pipe/tube. Anyone have any recommendations for a drill tool set that won’t break the bank?
This is what I have for swaging. I use a Matco handheld hydraulic flare tool.

Tihis is what I have from Matco but Mastercool is $300 cheaper and the idenical kit.
I do a lot of flare connections for mini split in multi split heat pumps and natural gas .I prefer the Ridgid flaring bar.
what are the flare connections for? what angle of flare? double or single flare?
I also deburr and lube the pipe before flaring or swaging.
For swaging I just use a cheap Amazon hydraulic swaging tool.
These are just going to be air lines for my compressed air in the shop. I guess I wouldn’t hate having the set that could do air, but then double for refrigerant.
I already have good deburr tools, so I’m covered there. What kind of lubricant?
this is by far the best product to both lubricate and seal flares.
In a pinch on gas line I could use whatever oil and on refrigeration line I might use clean vacuum pump oil or whatever type of oil the compressor of the refrigeration circuit takes for example POE.
But Nylog is my go to ! Best Refrigerant Sealants | Refrigeration Technologies the company Refrigeration Technologies make great products.
