Cutting Back Torch Shield

Hello All,

I have found that the torch shield on the XR is kind of annoying. My issue is it would be much easier to change torch consumables and to use anti spatter on torch head if the shield was cut back or removed all together. I have used plenty of other machines with exposed torch heads with no issues that I have seen.

Thoughts?

I think its on there to protect Z axis parts from spatter and the warning light. How much it helps, you would know after you cut it back. If you don’t try you will never know. If you do cut it post some pics for others to see and let us know later if it was a good or bad idea.
