I have a thermal dynamics cutmaster 40, and a crossfire pro with torch height control. Can I use a drag tip, or should I only use a stand-off tip. I’m cutting 12 gauge aluminum. I can’t seem to pin down a clear answer online-it seems the more I read or watch on you tube the more confused I get
If you’re cutting with the crossfire do not use a drag tip. A drag tip is meant to be in contact with the material for hand cutting.

Finally - a straightforward answer. Thanks!
Neither. the drag tip 9-8244 or stand-off 9-8237 should NOT be use on the CNC
Circled is your end stack options for mechanized cutting.
They also make a Shield Cap Mech Type 9-8245 for the 9-8237 shield but its not listed in the manual
here is a more complete parts list
