I did a search looking for a way to simply mark the center of smaller holes on plasma cut parts in Fusion 360. Your post processor fit the bill perfectly! I just downloaded it, did a test run, and it worked great. Thanks!
Just so you know, this thread is still useful a year later! Running this PP later tonight.
Welcome to the forum!
Good input. You might also be interested in the conversation that is happening in this other thread. There are a number of changes to the post processor that members are discussing.
In addition to being able to mark the centers of holes, would be the desire of having settings that are in the tools, flow thru to the post processor screen and several other wishes!
I’m bringing this thread back to the front for a couple of reasons. One, because it does work with version 24.1.6 in Fire Control.
Two it’s something that I kept doing and I need to come back and read this thread two or three times to figure out where I screwed up.
First off - on the profile only in the geometry tab, make sure you only use closed chains, and only on the circles.
Second - On the passes tab, get your tolerance as low as possible, sideways compensation is zero, finishing overlap zero, and there should be no other boxes checked.
Third - as it was stated above, make sure there is no linking box checked, no leads boxes checked, and your Pierce clearance at zero.
And finally, the one that was my biggest hassle, when you name the file “pierce-only”, make sure it’s got the hyphen between the “pierce” and the “only”, better safe than sorry, no caps.
A huge thanks to @manoweb for doing this.
Hey @Sticks
So it seems your post was just for reference, to point out the quirks of the system, and everything seems OK for you? Just making sure ![]()
I would not say quirks, just the proper procedure to make it work. The devil is in the details .
Past that it is getting the plasma set up to mark, not pothole the surface.
Minimal Pierce delay. Low pierce height…Then pausing before the next operation to set for cutting.
