Crossfire XR bad cuts

After returning the next day lately I have been experiencing bad cuts. The day before things will be running ok then I start getting bad cuts first thing following morning. The first time it happened I changed the lubricant I use (wd40 dry lube to 3in1) and it seemed to have fixed my problem along with checking tightness on screws etc. Today no amount of lubrication or adjustments on usual suspects seam to solve my problems. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem. My theory is possibly a motor going out? This machine gets heavy use 5 days a week but also gets regular maintenance (making sure everything’s is tight surfaces are cleaned etc).

@AaronG welcome

Grab each of the y-axis ball screws with your hand and see if you can move them back and forth or rotate at all.

These ball screws should be absolutely stationary with no movement. If you do have movement tighten up the Allen key at the end of the ball screw.

Once you’re finished home your machine.

Also check your x axis ball screw for any movement too

That’s my first thing to check I didn’t notice any looseness I did try and tighten to no avail. I did end up completely backing them off and retightening and it seems to have worked to the naked eye but my cuts are still slightly off. I’m cutting some thin full face flanges essentially so I measure the holes in perspective to the edge and they are all slightly off around 50 thousandths.
