It’s nice to have Wi-Fi in shop. For under $100. I buried 150 feet of cat 6 cable inside of conduit from house to my shop and installed wireless range extender in shop. Nice to be able to use my cell phone now as well inside shop.
You can also get direct burial CAT 6 cable with a water proof and abrasion resistant jacket, the wires inside are further protected with silicone lubricant so you don’t need conduit. I’ve had this from my house to shop for the last eleven years without a problem. About the same distance, but definitely not flat. Conduit would have been insane in my case. Depending on the terrain and weather history, you probably want to install a surge with spark arrestor at the termination at your shop. DAMHIKT!
If it’s line of sight with no obstructions, you can get a pair of range extenders which will give you, at least, 300 feet and ethernet at the shop, to which you could add another access point, giving you a fully networked shop (and who doesn’t want that these days?).
