Crossfire and crossfire pro motion control boards

Are the boards the same and running different control software? They both have the same connections, board numbers and version number. Does anyone know the the answer to this. Have ask Langmuir this and so far haven’t received any information.

the gen2 crossfire and pro use the same control board and box, only difference is the gen2 only had 1 Y axis port. both use firecontrol.

the original crossfire used a completely different control board and works with mach3 software only.

I have the newer it has a spot for the Y2 axis. So there should be no reason the Y2 axis wouldn’t work right?

Thank you.

If you have both Y1 and Y2 ports, then you have a pro and both should be working. The 2x2 table has Y2 blanked out and no motor driver for it inside the control box since the 2x2 table only has 1 motor for the Y axis.

Yes the port is blanked out. But if a drive is installed will it run with the other Y axis and square up with limit switches.

did you ever get an answer for this?

I have the same question. Since it’s blanked out, is it possible to add the second motor or do you need a new controller?

I installed a drive and hooked everything up and put the Y axis motor on the Y2 axis it turns so I’m guessing it will work>
