Convert Mesh section sketch to Solid sketch?

Anybody here know a fast way to convert a Mesh section sketch into a Solid sketch?

Frustrating that F360 can show perfect cross section outline but is incapable of converting it to a solid sketch so it can be manipulated or extruded.

depends on the model. there are a few methods I use. if its a huge model you may want to use another mesh software to reduce the mesh first.

you need to use these tools

in the mesh tab>Create . create a cross section with the " Create Mesh Section Sketch"

The section plane should begin in the center of the mesh body you have selected.

Move the section plane into the correct position for the reference geometry you want.

This will create a sketch in the browser bar. Edit this sketch.

Now in the Sketch> Create use the “Fit Curves to Mesh Section”

Used the tools in this menu to trace the elements of the Mesh Section Sketch that of need for reference.

Now you have a solid sketch that can be extruded and modified .

Thanks @TinWhisperer . I knew of those, but I was hoping for a simpler methond.

I am trying to do what you did last year taking a 3d print file of a Halloween scene (lamp) and prep it for the table. Lot of detail to have to mouse click around.

Gonna have to fire up Picture Publisher and take a invert image mask.
