Cutter was on 2T, thinknibjust went way too fast. Backed it down to 120 ipm, and made two test cuts, one at 45 on the RW dial and one at 30.


I think that was really close, and the only thing I might change (unless the consensus is different here) is that i may slow my lead it a little.

Here was the cut I made.

Ok, my next goal for now (ie, before Christmas) is AL scribing and cutting. I have the file ready, just need to figure out what thickness AL i have and what the settings should be.

Prepare for some messy cutting! The edge of the cut will be very rough compared to steel. There are bits of aluminum that go everywhere and can blast into the nozzle and interfere with results. Getting bits inside the nozzle may be rare but it happened to me. It caused some really abnormal cutting behavior. Nothing scary but just be aware.

I don’t know anything about scribing.
