Over the passed few weeks I’ve been having issues with the connection between the computer and the table. I have swapped the cable, downgraded to older firecontrol versions and nothing seems to work out permanently. The problem always comes back. I have checked inside the control box and blown out the dust and debris. The pins on the connector port do not appear to be compromised. Majority of the time when it connects and you move the torch an error message pops up as you see in my attached screenshot. The only thing I have not tried is another computer because the software will not install on my personal one. Our machine is coming up on about 3 years old I believe.
Have you tried a different USB port on your computer ?
I have and I have by passed the USB interreference adapter or whatever its called. Im honestly leaning towards it being a board issue inside the control box but the error mesage i get has me thinking something else.
XR owners do have a direct phone service line. Langmuir is very good about taking care of people.
I would try another laptop and then at least you can rule out the computer side as an issue.
Calling them is my next step, just figured I would try the forum incase someone knew something I haven’t tried yet. Langmuir is actually local to me so its nice having them in our backyard
I got the FireControl software to download and install onto my personal computer. Turns out my antivirus software was blocking it. In the process though Firecontrol is now working on the other computer lol so this will have to be continued for another day.
UPDATE: Newest version of FireControl 24.1.6 is not compatible with my Graphics card on my Personal Computer. Theres a link to a compatible version that pops up with the notifification but the link does not work. So I downgraded to an older version and the link for it works. When I power up the table you can hear a connection being established and then lost. It does this over and over. Something i was not aware of when using the OG computer since there are no speakers hooked up and my personal computer is connected to an old TV. In other words the connection issue is still a problem even with my personal computer. You can get it to connect usually within 30min of swapping around to different USB ports.
