Hi, would this model work with razorweld 45 https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-20-Gallon-Single-Stage-Portable-Electric-Vertical-Air-Compressor/1000578469 ?
No, the output volume is too low: Delivers 6.1CFM at 40PSI and 4CFM at 90PSI
Also, Oil Free compressors tend to sound very loud as most of the noise is higher frequency than oil lubricated compressors.
It technically would work for a very short cut path. Hell almost any compressor would work. You might get one or two 1/4 inch hole out of a pancake compressor before it had to refill and you needed to wait.
I cut by hand with a 30 gallon husky for a couple years. But you will wait for it to fill. I would not even try to hook up a cnc plasma to a 20 gallon compressor. The price of the crossfire is so appealing, but I’m starting to see that a lot of people seem to not have the metal working tools or other big tools already that some of us had coming into it.
thank you, is there any harbor freight model you would recommend? I was told this one would work fine but it’s not in stock https://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools-compressors/air-compressors-tanks/21-gallon-25-hp-125-psi-cast-iron-vertical-air-compressor-61454.html
Jeff you probably should be looking for something that puts out better than 6cfm@90psi. With your plasma, which some forum people have had to run at 80 or 85psi if I recall correctly, there are likely very few portable compressors that will meet your needs. I’ll venture that you’d be best served looking at a 240V stationary in the 3-4 hp range. Lowe’s and Northern Tool sell some that carry 3 year warranties, so if you get overwhelmed with choices, you might use that to guide you.
