Codes only in Mach 3 problem need firecontrol code

move down the torch.

DO NOT clamp on the consumable retainer.

Only clamp on the barrel of the torch.

I think z axis travel is an issue here.

Torch raising is a classic symptom of interference. This is usually from running firecontrol off a computer that’s plugged in with a grounded plug in an outlet. If it’s a laptop run it off battery.

The easiest way to tell why this is happening is to look at the live voltage readout while cutting. Depending on your cutter and the material thickness, you should probably be in the neighborhood of 120 v. if your live voltage far below that, un plug the the laptop and see if it changes. If it doesn’t change, confirm your VIM module is wired correctly into your cutter.

Thank You I will try that this weekend.

so don’t clamp it at the bottom where I have the red part attached? clamp it on the larger part?

Correct. You could invert the torch mount and clamp up on the barrel without losing any z travel. Most machine torches have an obvious seam/joint where the barrel ends. You don’t want to clamp below that joint as you could constrict the plunger which needs to be able to move freely.
