Did you find they would hold the temp pretty consistently? I would think they would have a pretty large swing on temp.
I got an electric one with digital control. I also think wrapping it in insulation (I used rock wool batts) helps because itās not just the thin metal of the box thatās holding the heat. The smoker was half-price so I think the whole thing was under $200.
Make sure the paint is oil based. Any high quality spray like those mentioned is good. If you want to go natural steel, a good rust inhibitor
product is called FLOOD. Odd name for the brand but it is penetrol. Excellent for steel made outdoor or garden art.
Most people here are painting with a spray can so this wont work.
I use Flood Penetrol on all my shop tools and benchesā¦it is an amzing product to coat things in around the shop to prevent rust.
@HouseWork talked about this on his facebook pageā¦I love it!
I was able to get the last 3 quarts available in my provinceā¦it can be really hard to findā¦
Oh I just read the can did not know you can use a rust inhibitor
Not every one does spray cans. Some outdoor art gets penetrol as a rust inhibitor or seal in what patina has developed.
it is, like I saidā¦amazing on shop equipmentā¦
