Grab a devils forge and melt your chips down into cast aluminum ingots. I bet the scrap yard takes it then.
I would imagine youād lose money doing this.
Possibly and at the very least youād have nice stacks of cast ingots laying around. I got a box full of them from old parts at work.
Editted to add.
You could also sell the ingots in eBay, thereās a guy selling 1lb ers for 5 bucks a pop. Thereās a market for everything and I think $5 is more than what a pound of aluminum scrap sells for.
I have quite a pile of HVAC refrigeration line ends that I want to eventually make a bunch of cost copper things out of.
Iāve got a few other things on my wish list but an induction furnace is one of them.
An induction furnace would be awesome. I always wanted to have a copper or brass ar15 upper and lower combo buffed to a shine. I loved melting a few years ago but life gets in the way and when youāre feeding and pouring for hours the weekend slips by ![]()
you know i tried this and struggled due to all the coolant on the chips.
