My laptop has a AMD processor, AMD Ryzen 7 7730u with 200GHZ Radeon graphics, and when trying to launch fire control i keep getting Child process exited code 1, i have set the window download to manual and paused for a week, reinstalled fire control ,and set the graphics to the highest setting and i still get the error . Im starting to loose my poop
Child process error means it’s missing a file or has a corrupt file installed. The U designation plays havoc on FireControl. The chip is trying to control the USB power output. Langmuir may have a patch or an idea. My two cents is to give your wife or kids the new computer and regroup. I know that’s what you want to hear. You can try loading FireControl again. You need to make sure you uninstall all the subdirectories. There is a thread that tells you how to delete all the files. I will try to find it and report back.
Fire control keeps freezing - #5 by langmuir-reilly!

It has nothing to do with Windows, stopping the updates won’t help.
i have deleted the file in C drive file a few times
I’m sorry this is happening. The AMD and Intel power-saver chips are an issue. Langmuir may be able to help. If not, the Beelink mini computer works perfectly. Amazon.com
If you decide to go this route. Buy this unit I sent you. It is a non power-saver N150 intel chip.
I know a lot of you guys like the whole Laptop thing. Unfortunatly all the newer models try to extend battery life. This plays havoc on CNC control boards that require the full 5 volt signal from the computer.
so u plug this into the laptop and you are good to go?
No its a stand alone unit. You will need a monitor.
You can use the laptop for design work. I have the both on a local network. When you post process it will go straight to the Beelink for cutting in FireControl.
Large umber of us swear by those mini pc bricks.
I have 3 of them now.
