Does any CAD in Solidworks then DXF over to Fusion for CAM; Know Solidworks but not Fusion.
I just purchased a Crossfire and plan to pickup a MR1 and would like to stick with Solidworks for the CAD. I have thought about purchasing Sheetcam but would like to play with this first using Fusion or do you need to go directly to SheetCam if using Solidworks?
I’m an older dog and now switching from something I am very comfortable with to something else is not something to look forward to I would rather spend that time learning the next steps.
I think I will try to use S.W., then send a dxfs over to Fusion.
Craig, thank you. I should have read your comment before I replied TinW. It appears Langmuir, I don’t remember where I saw this, agrees that if S.W. is the CAD then jump to Sheetcam.
The blackfriday deals made this so hard to pass up I figured it was now or never. I saved enough that a couple hundred more for Sheetcam won’t break the bank.
Fusion has a really powerful capability that isn’t well known. The technology is called AnyCad. You can program a file from SolidWorks but keep that file linked in Fusion. So if you change the geometry in SolidWorks, you can update that file and toolpaths in Fusion. I made a video that shows doing this with a step file, but it works the exact same way with SolidWorks files.
