When I started the break in program. It was going good. About mid way the gantry was starting to get stuck in the middle and now it. I took the lead nuts and screws off to see if the gantry was able to move free. Found that it’s only the gantry getting stuck in the middle. Any advice would help
Hi Jay,
Are there any marks on the Y axis rail tube that would suggest that the carriage is rubbing anywhere on the rail?
Yes their are marks on the Y axis
Can you send a couple pictures to support@langmuirsystems.com? One of the techs will help you get it resolved.
I’m getting some rubbing marks on the X axis on my system, is that normal or does it mean that it is too tight?
The bearing tracks are fine on the Y axis. If your machine runs normally, then theres nothing to worry about.
Thanks for the reply, but I’m getting bearing tracks on the “X” axis, is that normal as well?
Yes sir, that is also normal.
Got it, thanks again!
Okay. I took some pics and sent an email
I had a similar problem when I set up my machine. Found the problem to be a damaged bearing. The ball separator was wound up in the balls and had the outside race jammed. Put a mark on each of the bearings and observe to see that they all rotate. I contacted Langmuir and they had a replacement sent to me right away. Service was excellent.
was able to work with the service team and found that one of the welds was the reason for the gantry was getting stuck. was able to re align and left up the gantry. everything is working good now. thank you for the help
