Launched Fire Control this morning and was greeted with a blank, white screen. Used it yesterday and it worked just fine, no changes made to the computer or anything else. Now when it launches, the window pops up with nothing on it. the arrow keys still manually move the torch around, but nothing is displayed. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the most current version, the “compatiblity” version as well as the previous 2 versions with no change. My computer is a year old Asus ROG Zephyrus laptop.
Has anyone had this issue and what did you do to fix it?
Langmuir owns fire control. You can down load it and use it. But they can shut it down, change it, make updates any time they want. If there is a glitch on the server it can affect some people and not others.
Does your laptop work other wise.
Its like now when and if I get a notification that you or someone has posted it goes to my spam file or I just don’t even get it.
@mechanic416 FireControl runs independent of any servers. When connected to the internet, FireControl may check for updates, but induvial instances of FireControl are not connected to any server. We haven’t made any changes to FireControl since the 21.1.5 update.
Anyone know why Langmuir Systems software might show a blank white screen? I’ve tried some basics like clearing the cache and checking the browser, but it still won’t work. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Tell us about your setup. Laptop? Is it an old one?
It may be a graphics issue on the computer. Langmuir has a FireControl installation for older computers on their website.
If it’s a new one, obviously the cables and such.
Sorry, I can only guess at this point. Email @Langmuir-Johnny
When FireControl is installed, it creates a separate folder on your C: drive for settings and configuration files. This folder is not altered or removed between installations, so your settings and preferences are consistent between updates; a side affect of this is that any issue that stem from that folder would remain between installations. I would try uninstalling FireControl, deleting that folder, then reinstalling the latest version from our Downloads Page.
Uninstall FireControl from your computer via the Control Panel.
Delete the “.FireControl” folder, which is typically located at the file path: C:/Users/[YOUR USERNAME]/.FireControl
Restart your computer.
Reinstall FireControl.
If the issue persists, try again, this time installing the “compatibility” version of FireControl.
If this doesn’t help, reach out to support@langmuirsystem.com and mention me in the email, I’ll be happy to help you in-depth over there!
This is the proceedure for totally removing FireControl from the computer, so you can reload it.
