Think I’ve finally started to wear out my table. Been fighting a curve on my x axis for a bit. This is an OG crossfire Xl with the updated box and thc. Been running a 4’ y axis for a couple years with no issues on that. But the X has been getting a curve about 1/3 of the way in. Ive played with bearings, drag chain, etc with no luck.
Think I finally figured it out. My x tube is bending down shortly after the gusset. A straight edge on the top shows a high spot and a gap on the bottom. I think this lifts the roller bearings when they go over it. This pushes the bottom of the torch Y+. It’s the only thing I can find out of spec. Anyone else run into this? This thing has run every couple days for the last 6 years. I guess I either need to replace the tube or just pull the trigger on a bigger table
Just get them to send you a new tube. A lot cheaper than a new table, regardless of the brand. I got 5 years out of mine and am still going strong. I would buy another in 5 seconds.
New table is on my list, but a tube in the mail is definitely going to get parts out the door faster. I’ve been using this one for 6 years now with barely any issues. Probably averages running 3 days a week across that time. Some weeks it runs every day. Really pretty impressive reliability for a budget table! Only other issue I’ve had was a bad relay when it was a couple months old.
Gotta give Langmuir credit, they’ve got some crazy customer service. They’re covering the tube under warranty. 6 year old machine, used extensively, not a garage show machine by any stretch, but still well maintained. Heavily modded (not this part but definitely plenty reason to not cover under warranty).
Gotta add an update on their warranty. As much as I love that they covered it, it took a full week to ship. Hindsight, I should have just made my own from some tube and been back up the next day. Hoping it gets here tomorrow.
