So I just wrapped up putting together my Titan. I powered it up and discovered that my back gauge is not functioning properly. The gantry is way out of whack. When I assembled it, I made sure that the Y-axis arms were within 1/16th of an inch of each other before attaching the gantry. When I powered the machine up, it would not moved up or down until the gantry was slanted.
I took off the cross bar and ran each motor and everything appears to be functioning properly, they stay level without the gantry bar attached. X-axis runs perfectly and is totally square.
See attached pictures - any help or ideas on what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you for getting back to me! I tore it all apart this evening and tightened up the collars. I did have a bit of slippage when i turned on the machine on again but it dramatically improved the performance. It seems like one of the screws for the collar is not holding as tight as it should. I may have to replace it if this happen again!
The other thing you can do to drastically improve movement in the R-axis is to loosen the 4 bolts on each lead nut of the r-axis lead screw. These should remain loose enough to move the washer with some force, but not so loose that there is an air gap where the washer can rattle around.
