Artcraft has released SolidCraft - aimed at Fusion360

Has MCP for AI control - tell grokbot (or other agents) to build a flange for you and it will. It’s early (Doesn’t have manufacture yet - was released yesterday), but this will be my new goto for 3d modeling. Fusion360 is good, but I like where this is going and there’s no cloud junk for file storage. Combined with photocraft (photoshop), vectorcraft, this looks like a good tool chain (with AI support).

Best way to get this is to go to Artcraft and download their Installer tool. It has all the apps in one place to help keep them updated. They release frequently. WordCraft and GridCraft are not bad either. There’s even CADCraft! Supported on linux as well. Enjoy!

Interesting. I have a CNC Plasma Shop bot already setup and asked it about SolidCraft. It installed the program onto its computer and delivered a test DXF piece to open in SheetCam and look at the parameters. It also supplied the attached picture output from SolidCraft. All in less than 5 minutes. So you can give it a description of what you want and get design files, or work on your own computer collaboratively, and no more guessing from the AI on menu selections or different versions, etc.

I had Grok Bot create a job using SolidCraft. I gave a simple prompt describing an enclosure and intent to powder coat. It adjusted and then delivered the attachments. SolidCraft does not have Drawing export capabilities according to Grok, so it made those natively. Total time creating the drawing was less than ten minutes and a couple more creating the pdfs. I scanned the documents but will look closer if I decide to create the enclosure. The docs look fairly legit. The drawing opens in SheetCam with all four pieces layed out. This exercise used about 3-4% of my weekly Grok allotment.

Thank you for sharing this. In this example I picked the offset command. It has a very clean look to it. I really like the idea that it does not have to communicate so much with the mothership.

Scary. I’m a software engineer and I use A.I. daily now on the job. I can see a bunch of CNC programmers not feeling good about right now. Glad I only have a few years left before retirement…
