Are units being shipped by order number?

@jrak123 The plasma table requires signature for delivery - if no one is home to sign for it, I believe they will make another delivery attempt. Some people have “wasted” days off work for this very reason. You could contact UPS directly for confirmation that it will be delivered Tuesday, but someone on here recently did just that and they “promised” only for it to be rescheduled for the following day.

The shipment is not even in the hands of UPS yet, the package according to the tracking information provided last week is that the shipment has not even left the Langmuir facility yet. Why send an e-mail saying something is on the way and after 5 days it still has not even been shipped?

Also, with regard to required signature. I know they will attempt to deliver again, but if I can’t be home one day when they try to deliver, that means the following day I can’t be home at that time either. UPS delivers on a defined route and they deliver around the same time daily. When a supplier sends an email with " your order is on the way", then the order, you know, should be on the way. Not on the way eventually. I am relying on the information provided by Langmuir which is inaccurate.

Your snarky response is not warranted nor appreciated. I am asking why the plasma table has not shipped yet despite receiving an email saying that it is on the way. This is confusing to me since I received the same email a day after the one for the plasma table stating the water table has also shipped and indeed has as verified by UPS. Is it SOP to say something has been shipped and then sit on the order for “some” days? I mean Langmuir has missed every delivery date to this point and been upfront about it. Why add fluff to shipping notifications now? Don’t mean to sound like a jerk, but you could have simply given me an answer the first time I requested an update on why my table appears to not have been shipped despite getting an email saying it has.

UPS has some janky Tracking. My unit only showed as Label Printed awaiting delivery at distribution center right up till it changed to failed Delivery…Because I wasn’t there to sign for it. (because who knew when it was coming) I just rescheduled the next delivery attempt on a day I was going to be home. I think UPS made me pay an extortion fee of $6 to reschedule … but it was worth it. Where I live UPS is worse than the cable company…They just promised by the end of day…So the first attempt was at noon…I took a whole day off for them to show up at 5pm (i’m normally home by 4:30pm :smile:)… So Yeah USP!

(I maybe a little bit bitter… I am an ex-UPS employee).

You can sign up on UPS for My Choice (if you’re residential). It’s free and you can get expanded delivery information. They’ll also let you redirect delivery locally for free if you work near where you live. They’ll let you change it to somewhere else (like the next town over) sometimes for $5 or so.

Or you can have them hold it at the distribution center or deliver to a UPS store where you can pick it up.

For things like these I usually have them hold it at the distribution center & pick it up on the way home from work since they have one not too far from my normal route home. I don’t like having big stuff like this bounce around the back of the brown truck getting tossed around all day until it’s my turn.

My Choice will let you see that it’s where it needs to be the day before your delivery (or hold) so you can plan better.

@jrak123 My response wasn’t intended to be snarky at all. I resonate with the frustration of UPS deliveries coming at a time other than what is listed. Since you said it had a Tuesday delivery listed I assumed it had been updated - and you were wondering if that is accurate or not. I always prefer to err on the side of caution and didn’t want to advise you taking a day off of work to wait for something that may not show up since at the 11th hour, other customers have had that disappointment.

We print shipping labels 2 days ahead of when they ship so our team can be prepared for that day’s workload. In many cases since we’ve started shipping, some people never got an “origin scan” update and then suddenly their machine showed up. When UPS comes to pick up our stuff, it’s often in pallets and they don’t scan every single one (though they are supposed to). If your tracking has no movement but has a delivery date, that means it’s been picked up. If it shows no movement and no delivery date, it could still mean it’s been picked up and not scanned, or it could mean they didn’t get it in their load for the day and it’s sitting on a pallet waiting to be picked up. Often times we’re at the mercy of the size truck they send for pickups, even though we always request a semi.

Anyway, all that to say we’re definitely not trying to fluff anything. B2 has always been set to begin shipping in September and that is what’s happened.

I am well aware of this and how everything works with UPS tracking. This is how I know that the shipping email I recived for the water table is accurate and the water table is expected to arrive Wednesday. The problem is that UPS doesn’t appear to have the plasma table yet despite the email I received from Langmuir saying that it has shipped. According to my tracking information the label has been created and the package is still at Langmuir. Despite my best efforts I can’t get the staff at Langmuir to answer my original question to verify weather or not my order is still sitting in their dock.

I’m ORDER #3079 :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Many people aren’t aware of the option. Since you are I’ll step away and leave it between you and the support staff. Hope you see yours soon.

About the 2 day processing time, it has been 6 days and no movement on my order. When I received my email from langmuir about the water table, I also received an email from UPS the same day that the package was picked up and received another email today letting me know that it will arrive tomorrow. UPS still has no records of picking up the CNC table despite the email from Langmuir saying my CNC table is on the way.

So again, my order number is 1782. Will you check and verify if my CNC table is still in your warehouse or if there has been some shipping mistake and UPS has lost my order without scanning.

My tracking on my table never updated till it was 2 days out…I think California has some lazy ups drivers.My water table was a different story.I think it was never shipped when the label was created…until I posted on here about it then it started it journey to kentucky.Its very frustrating I know.I checked that tracking number probably over 50 times.Its all here now…Hope you get your soon.

@jrak123 Your table has left our facility. A handful of people emailed us this morning (their numbers are close to yours) with the same concern. I’m thinking there are a bundle of them that didn’t receive their proper scans. We’re keeping an eye on this, but they have all left our facility.

@jrak123 Any update from UPS?

Other than the water table is being delivered tomorrow, they are claiming they are not in possession of the CNC table. But Langmuir says they’ve confirmed it has been picked up so… hopefully it shows up tomorrow because after tomorrow I will be out of town for 2 weeks for work. I specifically took this time off to be home for the deliveries based on the info Langmuir provided. I guess their emails should say “Your item MAY be on its way” instead of “ It’s on the way”

Not to make light of the situation, but this made me think about the old TV show that used to end “and Elvis has left the building” and smile.

This has got to be one of the things that frustrate shippers as much or more than their customers - you’ve got no control over whether UPS (or FedEx either for that matter) actually does the job they say they’re going to and no leverage to make them do it as there’s no other game in town.

@jrak123 my tracking info finally updated today.

@Burgs04
As per the the tracking information from UPS, the water table that was shipped on 27th arrived today. The plasma table that was shipped on the 26th (according to the email from Langmuir) has not arrived yet and still has no updated tracking information and only shows that a label has been created.

@langmuir-megan
What day exactly did the plasma table leave the Langmuir facility? According to the post from @langmuir-daniel , shipping labels are created 2 days before the shipment leaves, despite the fact that the label was created on the same day that my water table was shipped.

@jrak123 The same thing happened to me. Label printed on the 26th and received an email the same day stating the cnc table had shipped. Actually recieved the email a few minutes after you judging by the picture you posted. On the 27th received an email stating the water table had shipped.

Yesterday received an email from UPS saying I had a package being delivered today. The package that was delivered today was the water table.

I checked the tracking number for the cnc table no less then 20 times a day since I received the email stating that it shipped on the 26th. Everytime I checked the tracking number it said “ready for UPS” with no other updates. Checked it last night and still said the same thing. Checked it earlier today and the cnc table is now at a UPS hub that most of my packages get routed to before they get delivered the following day.

With everything I know now it all makes sense. Label for cnc table printed the 26th. Label for water table printed and shipped on the 27th. Cnc table shipped on the 28th two days after the label was printed.

I would keep checking the tracking number for updates. The cnc table will most likely be delivered tomorrow. At least that is what it says for me.

The story we have gotten from UPS is that if the folks that load the packages into the semi trucks at the distribution center do not have easy access to the shipping label, they simply wont scan it. Most boxes that UPS deals with can easily be flipped over to scan the label, but this 130 pound box is pretty challenging to do that with. That is why so many of our customers see the tracking jump from ‘waiting for origin scan’ to ’ out for delivery’.

When we first started shipping machines in July, UPS would send a regular residential driver to our shop to hand load them into their delivery truck. Once we started shipping pretty significant volume (50+ machines in one pick up) UPS started requiring that we palletize 9 machines at a time so they could pick them up with a freight truck using a pallet jack and our loading dock. Doing this has made it impossible to complete an origin scan at our factory because only the 3 machines on top are accessible for scanning. UPS doesn’t bother with it.

We have requested that UPS set us up with a scanner so that we can complete the origin scan before palletization.

One other complicating factor is that we share a loading dock with many other companies. We have the UPS freight drivers come in the late evening (dock is less busy) to pick our pallets up and if our loading dock is occupied, they simply head back to the distribution center and try again the next day. When this happens on Friday, UPS wont pick them up until Monday.

@langmuir-daniel Could you double print or copy the shipping labels? The actual label then would go on each box and a “booklet” of labels for each pallet. Then after all labels from the booklet are scanned the booklet then can be discarded.

Thats a really good idea- I talked to our team about it and we will be implementing this on Friday when the next set of machines go out. Thanks!
