Yes the XR paired with a good quality plasma cutter will cut aluminum well.
You’ll have to watch out for the nozzle getting fouled more often than steel and it makes a huge difference with aluminum.
We built several of these benches with art panels out of quarter inch aluminum last year and have built a few more this year and they turned out.
Cutting aluminum can be fickle though so keep an eye on the nozzle and cut height and make sure you do some test cuts ahead of time.
