What could be causing this? Kerf is going the same direction on both side of a square, a little blurry but you should be able to get an idea of the odd kerf angle as well…
Torch height
Cut speed
Dry air
Bad consumables
You name it. Tons of reasons why
Lol, I guess I have some experimenting to do…
I had the same problem. What plasma are you using? I started using a different plasma cutter and it’s worlds better.
Y or x axis? How is the cut quality other then out of square?
Cut quality is pretty decent, and the angled kerf is along the x axis.
Been using a harbor freight cutter.
Hoping to upgrade to an Everlast in the near future though.
Haven’t had a chance to play with it anymore yet though to try and determine what’s causing it n
Can you use a protractor or a square to see how perpendicular the torch mount is to the slat bad?
I keep a copy of this manual by my bed. Tons of great info in it.
I’m pretty sure it’s good as I’m just now having an issue when cutting similar materials before the machine was doing great. But I’ll check
Just did another piece every side seems to be heavily angled on the kerf, gantry looks to be pretty square both ways, changed out tips.
Not all that noticeable on thinner stuff up to about 1/8” but can definitely tell on quarter
What plasma did you end up, upgrading to?
I upgraded to my 13 year old Thermal Dynamic Cutmaster 51. I have been using it for manual cutting since I bought it new so I know it cuts straight. It has a built in filter so dirty air has never been a problem. Plus I only get a noticeable amount of moisture when compressor runs none stop. I have an 80 gallon husky.
A little update. But first some back story
I originally had an older razor weld 45 amp machine. A month or 2 ago it died on me and I sent it off for repair but the repair would have cost as much as a new machine, so I bought a harbor freight cutter on eBay for 340.
I had some tips left over from my razor weld, and had been using those up, but I tried some harbor freight tips and consumables today, and it was a way better cut
How was the machine not under warranty? And what broke? I have yet to see one fail
This was an older one I had aquired second hand
