Any chance of water table plans becoming available?

Seems like this has been a topic for some time and I haven’t ever seen a set of plans.

All most of us would have needed the last few months would have been some crude min/max dimensions of the part or the specific dimensions of the tray and slats and we could have designed and shared the plans among ourselves.

I understand you are also selling the water tables so If you don’t want to provide the information just say so but previous responses have indicated that they would be made available.

They did say they’d be releasing plans. Same for the laptop mount and a table extension.

I bought the first two just because I want to be able to fire it up the day it’s dropped in my driveway :slightly_smiling_face: But I may build the larger table (I think they said somewhere it could be 2x4’) because I’m likely to want to do something tricky there so I only pull the larger one out when I have bigger projects. Not sure that’ll be possible though. I’d also need to build a larger water table. Thinking it will require another rail and probably recalibration so it might not make sense to try to have two, but I don’t think I’ll have the room for a big table permanently.

i remember a statement like that as well JDH, “water table and PC mount plans coming soon”… But at this point, i will settle to just have it in my possession… Once i get the system up and running, and I feel comfortable with it, then the add ons, extensions, and customizing will begin…

@jamesdhatch I think the 4x2 table will be in the X axis/table vs the Y gantry arm. that would give the best accuracy as far as i can see. i could be wrong but having the torch reach out from the gantry 4’ could cause some height variance.

agreed. I am perfectly happy with supporting the company that brings me a cnc plasma table to my door for almost 50% less than others. it also comes with issue forgiveness if something else comes up.

Do you guys think it is worth buying it or making it? I can definitely make it but like someone said, I would like to have all the attachments ready to go.

I’m a sheet metal worker by trade. I bought the water table and lap top stand, even though I’m more than capable of making them. You have to figure your time being worth something… and material isn’t cheap if you don’t work at a sheet metal shop :smirk:

That was my thought. Simple box with a drain valve. But between materials & time, it wasn’t worth building it myself. I’d probably work the weekend to save $25 :slightly_smiling_face: This way I’ll spend the first weekend burning things

I too simply purchased it so I don’t have to spend the time fabricating it. Although , I do eventually modify everything… I wanted to be up and running instantly.

The CAD models for the laptop stand and the water table is something that has definitely taken the back-burner to getting machines out the door, but rest assured that its something we do intend to get done.

If my budget only allowed me to get the laptop stand or the water table, i would definitely select the water table. It’s a significantly more challenging component to fabricate by hand with basic tools. The corners of the production water table are double folded (like a baking tray) and then welded. The rim of the water table is rolled over a 1/4" diameter steel rod which makes it quite strong. You also get a new set of slat holders with the water tray which would also be pretty challenging to make.

The laptop stand is a breeze for anyone with basic welding experience, especially since all of the parts fit easily within the CrossFire’s envelope.

That would have been great info to put out when people still had the chance to add something to their order without incurring additional shipping fees.

The store doesn’t even seem to have a provision for ordering the water table as an independent component for anyone that already ordered/received a table.

You cannot buy items individually without the table, but we can send you an invoice for a water tray or any of the add on items. Send us an email support@langmuirsystems.com .

I will highly recommend ordering a table from Langmuir after seeing how they built there’s it’s definitely worth it. I have the knowledge to fabricate one just don’t currently have access to a big enough brake press. Also the double rolled top edge is a nice touch.

I too thought I would make mine but I decided to purchase later and had to pay the extra shipping. Now that ive seen the aluminum pan im glad I did go ahead and order it.If you are set on making your own I would think you could get enough info from the dimensions of the
table to draw up your own.If you have the skill to make the pan you should be able to draw it up.I was told they had limited pans when I asked so im not sure how many they have left or if they are making more.I had them email me a invoice.

It was announced several times to contact Langmuir if you wished to order the table separately and include in your shipment. It was not through the store, but through email and invoicing. Too late once the order ships.
