They jsut raised the price to $495 PER YEAR as a subscription for Fusion 360. What alternatives are available that can generate tool paths and gcode to use? I have no prob paying for Mach 3 as a one time program, but 500/yr is steep for software im only using a fraction of its potential and functions.
If you’re a hobby shop earning less than 100k, F360 is free.
Scroll to the bottom of the subscription choices and you’ll see it there. Renewed every 2 yrs.
That’s for a full commercial license. As @Lil_Abners_Kustoms said it’s free for small businesses (generating less than $100,000/year from stuff produced using F360). If you’re earning more than that off of F360, spending $500/yr shouldn’t be an issue
It’s also free for educators and students as well as hobbyists.
They just reaffirmed this model with their latest changes to their support and delivery model so they’re doing a good thing for small makers.
It isn’t necessarily easy to find the links to get you to where you fill out the info attesting to your small business, teaching or hobby use drop a note and I’ll find the direct link when I’m back on my PC.
ill look into that, Thanks. Hobby it is!
My other gripe w 360 is the cloud based storage and req to be connected. There must be some alternatives that work for what were doing that are not as needy.
F360 can be used offline.
We created a short video on the subject as well: http://www.langmuirsystems.com/tutorials Scroll down to the video titled “Offline Mode”
