Nelson, I gotta ask: Was Mrs. Martinez one of your teachers?
Nice sign…even though you don’t want to be known for making “signs.” ![]()

Thanks for all the input, got it figured out.
The big things that helped:
Lead in/out
Changing starting points
Adjusting the pierce delay
Nice job! I like that font! stenciled, but not… yeah. Cool. What font is it?
Weird. I was basing that skepticism off your successful cut settings and the appearance. Last cut looks great!
I tried dropping to 18 gauge a few times but it was just too flimsy for my detailed designs. 16 gauge is my go to. 22 would not work for me at all.

So, my wife’s a SPED teacher and she thought it’d be nice to get a gift for one of the GEN-ED teachers she shares a student with (the children under SPED are integrated with GEN-ED students and only require a certain amount of hours for their independent study)
Well, that teacher ended up leaving on some medical emergency thing so I ended up tossing the sign believe it or not! Had sat in my garage for about a year.
Shame too cause I don’t make artsy stuff, much less paint it!
Thanks!
I couldn’t find a font I liked in Fusion, so I had actually used Microsoft Word and just screenshotted one I liked only to convert it to DXF afterward.
So, if you look for the font, it ain’t on Fusion lol
I’d love to tell you what one it was though but I had made that sign sometime last year.
Pic right after cutting it, I always hated seeing “grind” marks on signs after people cut them.
I use a RW54 and I cut 14ga at 110 IPM @45 and that chart shows 280-360. Plus it shows a V setting. I wonder how you set that?
Are you serious about the V setting? It’s set in the THC nominal voltage in Firecontrol. With nominal voltage, it will ignore your set cut height and keep the torch at whatever height results in the voltage that you input.
I thought it was a setting on the cutter, I did not think about THC
