3D scanner ( does anyone have one) that works

You use their software (revoscan, free) to import the project (cloud point data, mesh/texture files) and do some light processing work. Then you can export those to import to your CAD/mesh software of choice (fusion/solidworks/blender). They have revodesign but I didn’t care for it for what I need.

You can do all the processing on the Miraco, and transfer them to your slicer of choice for direct 3d printing. Full disclosure that you will want to post process vs directly printing, from my experience.

I would imagine that is good advice. I would likely be making a model of something so I can use it a a pattern. The part I make will be for the object to mount on it or vice versa. It is not like I am trying to print a copy of “The Thinker.”

I use a miraco plus. I like it, I dont use the metrology kit very much because its very finicky with LED lighting and the coded trackers. But it is really accurate when it works right. I made some parts for my polaris and never touched a tape measure. I just use their free software and import the stl into fusion for further design. I create construction planes on any edge of the mesh that I want to use.

That is very helpful to hear.

I might need to slow down my plans. Just bought a Sunsetter awning.

I kinda wish I had their new trackit model. No scanning spray and no markers needed. But you gotta have a computer hooked up. I like that the miraco is an all in one unit. In theory, I can take the scanner to a tractor dealership and scan things that I need to make products for. Still learning its quirks. Sometimes it works perfect and sometimes I fight it.
