1st Try with EasyScriber

I’m just waiting for the author to provide the Fusion file, and check the torch assembly.

CAD should match the work done using an Easyscriber, hence “wonky” should not even be a thing. If your car displays a check engine light and runs odd, you don’t ignore it and replace your wipers

Since you have successfully used this tool, I’ll definitely defer to you on this! :+1: :beers:

Here is the artwork. The font is wonky. However, it still isn’t lining the outlines up.

Here is the Fusion file.

I turned off THC, but did not uncheck the IHS. Gonna redo the program with IHS unchecked and maybe some rectangles if I can.

Sorry, I read wonky and thought you meant that the finished product was not aligning with that of the drawing.

I’ll look at the Fusion file along with everyone else.

Should I mess with any of these?

I still think you have a mechanical issue you’re avoiding, based on the second image of the ELD.

Also, I have never seen hatch lines done the way you’re doing them. I’ve seen videos of people using the milling tool code for processing for hatch fills.

I swear I’m not willfully avoiding anything. Just came back out to garage, checked z axis. The only freeplay with macjine off is in the -Z direction. I’m assuming that’s by design?

The only time I’ve seen designs not being “accurate” are due to the Z axis assembly being cock-eyed and/or loose, specifically the eccentric bearings.

After tightening them up and ensuring everything is square, everything should scribe the same way you’d expect a sharpie to run your design.

You may be right. I took the torch off the carriage, and after putting it back on i noticed a bit of play as i pushed the upper tip of the torch (where the cable is) towards the carriage. There was def some wiggle. I have to put the torch clamp on upside down or else i have no Z travel. I tried it the other way and got the same wiggle.

I’m also not sure i have the right EasyScriber part number. When i put the ES back in the torch a second app i noticed that it only screwed in a couple turns. Not even half the threads were engaged. My torch is labeled UBHY45-25M and the ES part number is ES020. I’ve reached out to them.
.

Either way, I’m afraid this is the end for now if i want to stay married. Will be back in the garage over the weekend. Merry Christmas!
