0.250, 0.375 & 0.500 cut speeds? RW45

I was buying some additional metal today and decided to grab some 1/4" 3/8" & 1/2" mild steel to try some test cuts.

Has anybody cut this with their Razorweld 45 that has some insight on speeds. Even though they will be test cuts I would like to be in the ball park. I plan to edge start the 1/2"

Figure I will try some squares and circles.

I tried some of the 3/8 and it seems like it wants around 12 IPM dialed up to 45 amps.

Thanks for the info. I’ll add it to the Razorweld settings sheet.

I’m interested in these thicknesses as well. I’ve got mine up and going properly now, so I can try some and report back too.
If the RW45 can truly cut 1/2” with nice results that would be great.

I am skeptical on the 1/2" I have a nice clean plate to try on however the speed will be getting near stop I suspect.

One the 3/8 the cut was actually pretty nice if you plan on cutting plates to a shape and drilling as a secondary operation. So i wasn’t testing so easy. The pierce went pretty no issue to speak of but I want testing large cuts  I did some 0.5" x 0.75 rectangles and a 1" circle.

The circle had a tough time at 12 IPM. She cut kind of an oblong cone and the rectangles were rectangles with a lot of trapezoid shape to them. A longer cut would likely have given a better edge as would a larger circle or slowing the cut further.
