Avoid Tip ups with nozzle diameter

Checking out the videos for the cam portion of fusion360 the narrator says the nozzle diameter setting can be used to avoid tip ups? how does that work exactly?

Hover your mouse over the option during the 2d setup in 'manufacture" of fusion 360 and a pop up explains it. Your setting your torch to go around previous cuts instead of travelling over top of it when possible.

I see, and it uses this setting to decide the radius to keep?

Distance from edge of what it cuts. If your machine cuts out a piece of steel inside your design and it’s sitting on a Stat, it will have one end fall toward the water and one end point up causing a possible collision with your torch head. This is a tip up. It helps in the avoidance of this situation.
