So my x axis has worked fine for about a week, but now i do one project and then it screws up. I’ve tried jogging it. Hard reset. Switching the x and y axis cable and still messes up. It will go the right way one time. Go the opposite direction next time. or not move at all the next time i jog it. Have tried loosening bolts screws and anything else to make it move better with no good results. Problem has happened out of no where. Done the break in program multiple times with terrible results. Again will start out ok, then not move at all then move the opposite direction it should. Very frustrated and have had issues for the 2 months I’ve had this machine. Y axis was the first to mess up and finally fixed it after shimming up the y arm almost half an inch to make it level. Just tired of spending more time trouble shooting than cutting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
does not sound like sticky bearings or a sticking carriage at this point…but…
when you say it moves then moves in the opposite direction…is it trying to follow the programming but can not keep up wih the program?
…Mach3 and Fire Control will show the position of the torch on the workpiece…
is the torch in the same place to program says it should be?
are your couplings from drive motor to drive screw tight?..are the drives slipping?
it is hard to see if you are hitting the arrow keys or if the laptop is doing it randomly.
try this for now…go into your profile and look for the fire control folder…should be right there in the same listing as Documents…downloads…go into it and delete the contents.
then reboot your laptop.
you will get the welcome screen for the latest updates…
then try jogging it again…
I found that I had some cables getting some interference as I had repositioned things the day before…
next reach out to support email and link them the video…they might have some more answers…
I have support sending a new motor. To answer your question though i was pushing the arrow keys on the laptop. What was happening I would push say the x+ arrow and it would go x-. Then push the same arrow and it would go the correct direction.
If the new motor and port doesnt work I’ll go the folder option and try the reboot. I did uninstall fire control reinstalled and still didn’t work. Again hopefully the new parts will fix the problem.
see…Langmuir is extremely helpful…glad to see you are getting some help…reach out again if you need more help
