X axis lead screw breakage

Just snapped another lead screw, table is square, no binding. Has anyone else had this issue…

It’s happened several times before. Langmuir will take care of you. The end is machined down to .250 and is the weak spot.

Be sure to clean and lubricate the lead screws regularly whether it be WD-40, silicone spray or sewing machine oil.

I have a friend that says a great light weight lubricant in 0-5W synthetic motor oil. (I have not tried it yet but plan to.)

Here was my adventure into one of those lead screws breaking.

Sorry pal. I put the VooDoo hex on us answering that thread.

I agree with @Bigdaddy2166 and @ChelanJim I’ve had two breaks on my Crossfire Pro X Axis, but it’s been at least a year since the last time (REALLY hope I’m not jinxing myself right now!) But lubricating the lead screws really has seemed to help!
