What is the best sub 1000$ plasma cutter for cnc

Did you solder the wires to it?

Yep… Moved the unit about 5 feet from my computer and table tried a test cut no fire. Found wires falling out…

I am cutting light 10gauge steel with double cutting speed, I was set at 40amp and there is less tear left on the material. That is the 60s everlast, it is priced under 1000 $

I just got the primewell 60 real nice works nice …

I’m having a lot of trouble with my everlast power plasma 50s. It can’t seem to maintain the cutting arc as I continue cutting, especially when it is run by my machine. I have the ground clamp directly on the metal, and I’ve tried replacing all consumables including the swirl ring and the fuse. I’m trying to cut 3/16’ mild steel with my compressor set to 90 - 120 psi and my plasma cutter to 70 with 30 - 40 amps. The only way it cuts is when it moves at a very slow travel speed around 30 ipm; but of course that only leaves a lot of slag on the bottom of the metal. If it travels faster, even when starting on the side or piercing all the way through, it only gouges the surface.
The machine itself is working fine, because all the movement is correct, and it fires the torch correctly, but it can’t seem to cut the metal.

how long after you start the cut does the torch cut out?
is it possible you are pushing the duty cycle time of the Plasma?
you can only cut on the average 6 minutes out of every 10 minutes…
are you running the torch at 220v or 110v?

What version of Firecontrol are you using?

The cuts I use with fire control v24 to test the machine are only about 20 seconds long, and none of them work from the first one I run - I always use 240v when plasma cutting.

Small ie are you having EMI/noise issues with your Cut60? Mine cuts really nice, but noise issues were crippling until I relocated the machine and added a USB isolator and 6 chokes. I’ll do the motion control board mod next.

wow thats alot of chokes. I have a CUT60 and only needed 1 choke. I was going to do a before/after video on the motion control mod so i started off with the cutter right next to the control box and ran a few test cuts and no interference or freezing at all… weird.

what type of isolator do you guys recommend?

Langmuir sent me one free just before they cracked the case on the soldering fix. It came in a plain brown wrapper (actually bubble wrap and box). I know nothing about it, so here are some images. The remaining side is just a single USB type B female where your cable goes. Hope it helps.

A higher resolution photo showing the chip part numbers would give us a clue. That looks like an isolated hub given the 1:4 port relationship. I wonder how they tap off 5V to power the controller like they did in CF original. Those big black boxes might be EMC filter chokes so it’s RF isolated, but not DC isolated.

On my phone it looks identical and the ADUM 3160 is on there. I’m not at the machine anymore, so that’s the best I can do right now. I can try to make a better image and will post in case anyone still needs it.
