Water table slay issues

Got the machine all set up, but when checking the tracking I can’t get it anywhere close to aligned. If I set a straight edge on the slats, two of the slats make it so there is almost a 1/4” difference in height from gantry side to the open end. The slats are all seated and the seat holders seem to be flat. The machine is level according to the frame.
When I follow the adjustment procedure I can’t get the torch holder to move much past center before it hits a slat, even with the 1/8” spacer used for adjustment.
Anyone else encounter this? I’m teying to figure out what to do, looking for any advice.

I used a bubble level to set the tracking and it seems to work as best I can tell. There is definitely variability between the slat heights as I can get the shin under the torch holder on some slats and not others. However…overall it’s much more uniform now.
I suppose that it may not matter the method to get the holder to track even, just as long as it does??

There will always be some variability in the slat heights (approximately .020” if i had to guess). The goal is to make it so that the torch height is the same on slat #1 and slat #10.

Analyzing your first post, it sounds like the gantry is pointing up. Sounds like you got that fixed based on your second post?

I believe so. I just got the lead nuts secured and the electronics box on. Hopefully I can run the break-in program later today.

Thanks for the response! :+1:
