THC Out of control

is your firmware and software up to date? i had similar issues with one of the earlier firmware and software updates, it went away after the next update, not sure which update it was but it was early on.

Bingo, we have a winner. In the space of a few minutes today, the DRO went from reading 0V in the THC test to reading 221V with the DV input cable disconnected and the cutter turned off. I had reported transient nonzero resting voltage (A1 to GND) to LS in September of last year and April of this year. I think this warranty replacement part was in the process of failing since I installed it last year and that that’s why I have had continuous problems.

Well, I spoke too soon. I think the high voltage I saw is unrelated (I think it was residual alcohol from cleaning that was shorting the Z lead screw to the IHS). I realized after posting that I had high resting voltage, but zero volts when firing the torch. I’m suspecting the VIM, because when I test fire with DMM leads on the DIV cable connector, volts go in, but when I test on the THC cable or DIV out port, no volts come out. This isn’t the only thing going on, but if it’s been busy getting ready to fail, it might explain why the THC reacting to as if it’s seeing low /no voltage when actual positive voltage is coming from the cutter.
