Pierce Delay Control

Learning the Fushion 360 program and wondering where I find the PIERCE DELAY?

I have some 16ga. Stainless scraps so cutting some small parts to learn what has the least amount of dross.

I have very little dross with the exception of where the pierce point is. Is this normal or can I set the pierce delay lower?

I am currently at 45A with the RW45, 150IPM and air at 105 psi but when the machine is cutting the torch only has 60psi on the gauge is this a built in max in the machine?

Pierce delay is in the post not in F360.

Thanks! Wish I would have posted sooner instead of wasting time looking for it in the wrong place LOL

Makes me question if my thinking of a shorter pierce time will solve the excess dross in the pierce location. …or do you think I am heading in the right direction?

In FireControl you can tune the pierce delay with the pierce delay override between 0% and 200% of the program value.

Thanks.
Never made it to the table yesterday to try altering the delay and not familiar enough with FC yet to fully understand where this option would even be on the screen but if I understand correct if it is currently set at say .5 can I assume Firecontrol will show as .5 and 100%? With that said, if I was to change it to 50% would the delay then be at .25?

Yes your understanding is correct.

Hi guys,

What is an appropriate amount of time for pierce delay setting? Thanks.

That all depends on the thickness of the material. Most thin material around .5
