Have to move slow and steady for sure. I am going to knock out end wall on my shop and add another 8’ back and the full width of shop 20’. Put mill straight back and rest of my metal working tools, tired of moving everything off to side of shop to use lift when I need to put vehicle in air.
I have one bay of my garage full of my equipment. I love it but they do require real estate don’t they?
Slow and steady for sure. I have a South bend 16G with a 10 ft bed the motor is over head. I used car dolly on the back end and a cherry picker on the front.
Sweet! But I can’t figure out where to mount the touch screen and where does the torch go?
Not to take anything away from Richard @rat196426 on his cream puff mill..
I bought this CH 70 from Vevor a couple of days ago. It is the best tool I have bought in many months. $190 35T metal punch. Now, grant you I already own the $900 Energypak foot 10T pump.
It cuts holes without a flinch. I cut 25-3/4 holes in 5 minutes. It states that it can punch holes in up to 10 mm plates. (I hate the metric system.)
Almost puled the trigger on one of those a few months back.
My needs go more like 14mm (1/2” in reality). If you do a lot of sheet metal (yes I called 3/8 sheet metal), and the throat will accommodate your needs, then bingo.
***I mostly play with thicker media.
They make a 80T version
CH-80 is the 50t. Cool $1k+/- delivered.
I can wait.
I was trying to figure out why they never came up with a metric version of hours, minutes, days.
Perhaps they have?!
My wife would query: “You probably have three other tools that will cut that hole. Maybe I should come down and help you look for it?!…You need to get rid of some things before you buy anything else.”
She probably said a lot of other things but I stopped listening after she offered to help me look.
Jimmy, I am telling you this thing is absolutely the fastest way to make holes in metal. I stepped on the pedal and just smiled. Now, if you don’t have the air-over hydraulic pump, it would be a lot harder.
your wife is funny girl! I love her sarcasm
how do you line it up? only cuts one size hole?
The punches have a dimple in the center. I just brought it down slowly till the dimple lines up. It came with five punches 3/4,5/8,1/2, 3/8 and 1/4.

My wife offered to help me clean out and organize the shop on Saturday. After over a year I finally got an opportunity to get back out into the shop over the weekend… With the house build the shop is in total disarray. When I walked out the door, she told me to text her when I was ready for her to come help. …The weekend is now over, and I still haven’t sent the text. ![]()
This below is a big reason why I don’t want her out there. I know she would spend the whole time telling me all the things I need to get rid of. ![]()
There is still a list a mile long of things I still need to do with the house… I actually ended up laminating the list she gave me… I think it will take that long.
Really the only reason I got the OK to do some work in the shop is because it rained all weekend and I couldn’t do any work on the landscaping… It sort of helps that one of my ongoing projects is for a Dr. she works with.
That is a good place to start!!!
…with some kind of opaque material.
