Not cutting through at start of cut, pierce delay not working

That’s helpful. It’s great when it’s cutting right, not so much fun when it is not. I’ll start counting pierces for each run and keep a tally… I didn’t realize it, but I have over 500 of them on this tip. AND… I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out when I could have dropped the torch and I didn’t. Instead, I remember now, I was loading some 3/8” steel to make some brackets for a deck support (long story, it’s boring straight cuts), anyway, I remember it was hung on the table, it wouldn’t slide, so I heaved it into place and hit the torch. I quickly looked for damage but didn’t see any (at the time), that must have been when it happened. I remember it cutting badly / slowly after that and I took it to be the 3/8” steel as I rarely cut that thick.

Fast forward 6 months due to a stroke, I was just getting back to the table and the first thing I did was try to remember how to use it, clean it, tune it, generally fart around with it trying to refresh my memory, and then run this job with 12GA steel and here I am.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Thank you for the back story.

It is hard to remember things, sometimes. When we are young we get things jumbled because we are multi-tasking and too much information to keep track of. As we get older, many things just don’t have the “weight of the world” on them so we don’t keep track of those things as well. Now we focus on whether we took our blood pressure pills and when is our next colonoscopy. Oh good grief, did I say that out loud!:man_facepalming:

We definitely understand.

My wife is a GI nurse.. I’ll have her call and get you on the schedule. :winking_face_with_tongue:

funny story when we first started dating she called and disguised her voice and said “is this Erik… you were referring by your GP for a colonoscopy and I am calling to get you on the schedule… it may have worked if I had a GP. :winking_face_with_tongue::joy::joy:
