Nitrite for water treatment

Can anyone tell me where to purchase nitrite for water treatment? Does it have to be pure nitrite or the 6.25 percent used for meat treatment?

Thanks. Do i look for pure or the 6.25 percent that is used for meat processing. No luck with the pure powder.
